I am an undergraduate student of Design at Bennington College. I will begin my studies there this fall and am interested in the history and theory of design. I will spend my upcoming undergraduate years defining design through the study of its history and through my own "experiments" with designs of living spaces. I will also study space through light; I will learn about the science and craft of lighting through lighting for the theater, and I will conduct "experiments" about perception, space, and light through installation.
I will study phenomenology of perception and will explore this within spaces, as well as within the practice of various dance and movement theories. (first will be Japanese Butoh dance)
At my previous university, SUNY Purchase College, I studied the history of art.
I've spent this past year abroad, working as an au pair in Paris, improving my French and making a book of drawings.
Other interests of mine are language, the phenomenology of language, systems for classifying sounds and shapes of language, the history of the English language. I am teaching myself Swedish and am taking courses in American Sign Language(LEVEL: BEGINNER).
