I'm Kurt Fitzner, a forty-something year old guy originally from Edmonton, Alberta, but now hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia.

For much of my adult life I worked in software design and project management. Starting with general software design, I specialized in process control and automation, then moved more into project management. However five years ago I realized I enjoyed the leadership aspects, and decided to change careers and became a naval officer. I'm one of those types that likes to keep his hands in the technical cookie-jar, though, so I still contribute to open source and maintain a couple software projects of my own that I keep up.

I'm married... still... and have six children, so I also do a lot of PC and network administration (which I have also done profesionally) on my home network. Definitely keeps me on my toes.
