I am a female, born in Palo Alto, California. I was raised in the Los Angeles area. I attended one year of college in California at Harvey Mudd College, then finished college in Canada after my mother remarried a Canadian college professor, graduating with a B.Sc. in Biology and Geography. Along the way I enjoyed courses in foreign languages, learned to play guitar, typical college stuff. I moved back to the States, worked in biotech for a few years - cloned the Xanthan gum pathway into E. coli. Then I was lured into a programming job by the promise of learning 'C'. Enjoyed writing software for libraries for about 10 years, then switched to database administration and design for Navy Housing. Continuous extracurricular interests have been the situation in the Middle East, demographics, future studies, virtual reality, Morris dancing, massage, drawing, and reading (esp SciFi and comics). Although raised without religion, I am ethnically Jewish. I feel fortunate to have been born a woman in America in the 20th century. I have more freedom and opportunity than most humans have ever had, especially women. Not to mention the lovely hot running water and the delight of color vision!
