I am a biographer of Jane Addams. I have published a half-life about her in 2005 (Citizen: Jane Addams and the Struggle for Democracy, University of Chicago Press, 2005) and a new full life biography by me will be published Sept. 6, 2010 by W.W. Norton, on the 150th anniversary of Addams's birth. The new book's title is Jane Addams: Spirit in Action.
