Peter has been associated with the United States Coast Guard since April Fools Day 1980 when he enlisted in the Coast Guard Reserve. Not realizing the extent of this prank, he has been with the Coast Guard ever since. Currently, he is a civil servant serving as an organizational performance consultant, providing counsel and services to leaders in organizational leadership & management, conflict management, and change management, for the Atlantic Area in Portsmouth, VA. Peter has served a variety of units throughout the Coast Guard including a port security unit as the operations officer and a multi-mission small boat station as the executive petty officer. Peter's blogging includes a diverse range of topics. For An Unofficial Coast Guard Blog, his focus is on change, leadership, and performance.
