A fifth generation physician and life long student now retired from practice but not from learning or thinking. My antecedents included two medical doctors, one dentist, one chiropractor, one pharmacist, one minister and a maternal grandmother steeped in "Mountain Medicine." In today's lingo Granny would be called a wise woman or alternative medicine specialist. So I came to my own 33 years of eclectic medical practice honestly based on this multi-disciplinary background.

Having just read http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/Vitalism I seek to join with you even though my days of publishing papers are well behind me.
