In British history, a document that led to a change is government in the 1924 elections.

The Zinoviev letter was purported to have been written by Gregory Zinoviev, the Comintern Secretary, in 1924. It urged British communists to prepare for armed revolution. It was printed in conservative newspapers just days before the October elections and resulted in a repudiation of the Labour Government of Ramsay MacDonald and the return of Stanley Baldwin as Prime Minister.
